Rooting your HTC smart phones:
Recently i come across a problem with one of my customer that rooting an HTC phone requires a little more effort than usual rooting process for every smart phone. I as usual GOOGLE'd things and found a variety of confusing walk-through's everywhere. The worst part is even in the official website, the steps are of a lot messy.
Here i present the perfect walk-through to root your HTC:
(Especially for Explorer series)
The basic steps in rooting your HTc involves 3 steps:
* Collecting the necessary data ( MUST)
* Unlocking your Boot-loader.
* Rooting your phone.
The following are very essential to finish your rotting process:
1. An active internet connection.
2. HTC sync service
3. Google Android SDK
4. Jave runtime Environment
5. A310E recovery
6. Superuser.zip
Unlocking your Bootloader:
1. For this you need to go to www.htcdev.com , Follow the instructions given there.
2. DONT be mad at me, I will now explain what i found confusing with their website.
NOTE:
* All android phones can be unlocked by selecting 'All supported phones' option.
* DO NOT follow the steps like remove battery listed in the first page. Instead go to the next page.
* Download all the listed files and supporting programs like ADB, ADK, java.
* Then before doing step 6, Goto Step 1 and prepare your phone.
* Just follow from step 6 to step 10 and complete unloading bootloader.
Add a recovery:
Doing this will allow you to install .zip ROMs. You can access to it in the menu android phones have when booting the phone after removing-inserting the battery and pressing "volume down" and "power" buttons simultaneously. (Other phones have different button combinations).
- Download A310E Recovery.zip (better google it !)
- extract it in any window on your PC (i recommend: C:\HTC)
- run the recovery.bat (from PC) with phone in fastboot mode (first option in the "3 android menu" ) when connected with usb.
Done! You got the recovery installed if no errors, you can now install any compatible ROM or root operable apps.
